Last week at Mickey’s Musings Mickey described that his housemate Tillie was learning to love grass just as much as he does.
All four of our Good Cats enjoy indulging in grass, as shown above. And it’s perfectly normal for them to do so.

While our cats are usually loving and devoted to us — especially when they want food — all of them are shy around people they don’t know well. Their shyness doesn’t keep them from going outside, but if a passerby on the sidewalk notices them, they are quick to run and hide. Not always, though. Kelly was in the front yard enjoying the sunshine of a summer day when a mother and her little girl approached along the sidewalk. The child asked if she could pet Kelly, and I began to explain that he’s shy with visitors. The words were barely out of my mouth when Kelly strolled over to the little girl and rubbed against her. For several minutes, he let her stroke his fur and generally behaved as though he enjoyed this sort of thing all the time. Making a new friend while at the same time making a liar out of one’s human are sure signs of a Good Cat. |
Five turkey vultures have just taken off nearby, and they are slowly circling and gaining altitude.
TV’s are ungainly on the ground, unattractive close-up, undesirable because they’re associated with death… but here, they are graceful and a pleasure to watch.
I mean, as long as I’m not who they were circling…
Answer: Condensation on the inside lid of a Styrofoam box that had held leftover food from a restaurant.
Caitie has been playing on Diana’s swing set lately, and I’m planning to put together a little video of her to post next week, but for now here’s a still of our Calico Diva enjoying herself on a sunny spring day…
… and then I looked at it again and wondered how it would look cropped down to show just Caitie and her long tail hanging down…
… and then I looked at it again and thought it would be nice to crop it to show her pretty face and her bright green eyes.
