Traditional Friday Cat Blogging: Mr. Kelly

Everyday life with Good Cats, plus anything else that comes to mind.
We cleaned up the previous year’s leftover plant stems and mulching fabric along with the new year’s weeds volunteers. The latter included some catnip, which we nearly had to fight our Good Cats to remove.
We picked up some free compost from the township yard waste recycling center, and then spread it over and worked it into the ground.
All we need now is another couple of sheets of mulching fabric to layer over it all, and Pat’s garden will be ready to plant for another year…

A couple of Fridays ago, I took the afternoon off from work, and spent it instead with Pat and granddaughter Diana at a nearby park.
First we took a walk on the track, and Diana turned it into a sunny springtime dance around the park.

Later she played in the shade and sand, and…

…squeezed into the narrow opening between a couple of large stones.

We picked up some ice cream on the way home, and back at the house, Nana Pat washed off the stickiness and remaining sand the fun way, with the hose.

Maddie the dog, who’s visiting our yard uninvited from next door, is large and strong. Our black Man Cat Nicky is much smaller than Maddie, but he isn’t running away from her either.
It takes more than a big dog to scare Nicky… a loud noise from the highway in the distance, well… a cat can’t be too careful.
