Hello (again) World
Pat and I are back in town after spending some time in New Jersey for Labor Day weekend, enjoying life along the seaside of the Atlantic Ocean. Pat, who was born and raised in the Garden State, tells me the term NJ natives use is “goin’ down the shore.” (It matters to speak the language properly, just like I learned around here to say “soda” instead of “pop” as I did growing up in Ohio.)

A couple more photos from summer involving water: Heavy rains turned a nearby farmer’s field into a shallow pond, and waterbirds found it. We don’t usually see them, but one morning I counted 17 white egrets in the pond. By the time I could get there with a camera, there were only a few left.
We also spent some time on the shore of Lake Erie in Ohio, and one evening we saw this local resident…
We’ll post more about how we spent our summer vacation in the days to come.
More importantly, the cats have been Good Cats, as always. Kelly had a tooth extracted in August, but otherwise all 4 have been in Good health. (This naturally leaves out the usual periodic episodes of throwing up.) And like their humans, they have been taking it easy…

It looks like you had a very nice summer break. While at Lake Erie, I suppose you didn’t say, “Here kitty, kitty, kitty!” when you saw one of the local residents.

We’re all glad you’re back safe and sound. All of you. Yes the human types as well as the kitties. Nice photos too, Angus says Nicky looks just like him. Misha says he needs to take a nap and will think about it later. Welcome home.
