Beauteous Miss Caitie looks out on a winter scene from December 2005. We have to use a photo from last year because there’s been no snow in our part of the country yet this season. To tell you the truth, after hearing the news about severe storms in the Northwest and in Colorado, the lack of snow is just fine with me.
Over the next few days, we’re having a little family Christmas first at our house, and then we’re going to visit more family in New Jersey, so there’ll be a break from blogging here for a little while.
Just a quick reminder that our little seasonal video was posted this past Monday, and on Friday we went back to 1998 for our virtual Christmas card which is posted just around the cybercorner at “What a Good Cat!”
One Good Cat Link: Far be it from me to get political on this blog. The blogosphere is already chockablock with partisan writings, and I assiduously avoid them and their harsh rhetoric. That’s why it wasn’t until just recently that I learned about Ferdinand, The Conservative Cat weighing in on ‘Rush Limbaugh and the Cat Thing’.
Some years ago, Paul Harvey said that Rush Limbaugh is “the best there is [insert Paul Harvey-style pause] at what he does.” Take that however you choose…
One Video Link: Remember this one from last Christmas?
One Other Link: Stuff People Write on Money varies from the everyday (”2nd right light 91 S.”) to the possibly profound (”The angel shall come to take over the world. When the bird is dead.”)
Canadian cat One-Eyed Jack has posted a useful document that explains what he has learned about Vishus Deer of the North. Since a cat never knows when he may have to deal with danger, this is certainly a good thing to be aware of.
However, having written that, I will also say that the deer pictured below look rather harmless, coexisting peacefully with the few humans in this little extended patch of greenery and trees in northern New Jersey.
Here we see the Kelly Cat sitting out of doors. But he is not simply wasting time; no, this cat is looking for a meal, he’s attentively waiting for some potential prey.
As we pull back on the scene, we can see what the Big Guy appears to have in mind. It’s not likely that any bird is going to land on the feeder with Kelly sitting directly below it, but just the same, it cannot be denied that this is a cat who when hunting knows where he should expect to find birds, and that knowledge makes him a Good Cat.
