It’s a Major Award! And It’s Here!
Caitie’s prize from the Six Word Cat Story contest just arrived, and she would like to thank Lux and his humans for the honor as well as the terrific prize, and for the effort it took to see the contest through from start to finish. Congratulations also go to the other award-winners, plus kitty paws-ups to all who entered. I wouldn’t have wanted to judge that contest!
Now, here are photos from the post-award ceremony at our house.
After Caitie’s human opened the big box, she, Nicky and Kelly sniffed around it. They could tell something good had arrived, but what was it?
The little calico found Milo’s Kitty Gift Box from Only Natural Pet Store, and the box included:
* Catnip Chew Ring – important for dental health, jaw exercise and all around fun.
* Zukes Natural Purrz – healthy & moist salmon flavored cat treats.
* Castor & Pollux Organix Treats – super healthy and organic chicken flavored.
* Castor & Pollux Curious Catnip Toys – a variety of veggie shapes.
We let Caitie decide what she wanted first from the box, and the Calico Diva decided on…
…catnip, of course! The little ‘nipper is enthusiastically enjoying a plush carrot full of what is obviously some high-octane stuff.
It’s kitty high times, in the privacy of our own home. Caitie is rolling her head on the carrot, and you can tell both she and Kelly are quite content. There was no Photoshopping done to this picture, specifically to her wide, dilated eyes. Happy happy joy joy…
Kelly now has control of the concentrated power-pack, and from the looks of it, he’s telling Caitie, “You can have my ‘nip when they pry my cold dead paws from it!”
After Caitie and Kelly had their turns, Nicky took over, tossing, chasing and chomping the toy around the family room and eventually into the kitchen. Lizzie was not present for any of the ceremonies or the initial charge to the catnip. but she eventually made her way downstairs and joined in the celebration.
So plainly, the Good Cats will get a lot of enjoyment out of this prize — on behalf of the cats, (who are in various stages of catnip intoxication at this time), thanks again, Lux!

My mom kept giggling uncontrollably as we perused these pictures! We’re so glad the gift was a bit hit – everyone seems to love that carrot! Those picture are very funny!

Wow! What a great post-award celebration. Those are some great prizes. Especially the catnip carrot. I am glad you all had FUN! (Nicky looks funny taking a big chomp out of the carrot!)
