What is a Good Cat?

Posted in Cats, What is a Good Cat? at 8:00

Nicky ensures sanitary standards are maintained in Pat's kitchen.

Pat tells me that just about every morning lately, Nicky sits and meows at her feet until she picks him up and lets him look over the countertops, including the range and the sink. It’s possible that he’s just looking for something that he smelled from the floor, like food or catnip, but since these areas are where his meals are prepared, maybe our Gatito Perfecto Nicky seems to fancy himself a little health inspector.

The thing is, Nicky is a little slob when he eats those meals. There are always plenty of crumbs on the floor to sweep up when our black cat gets done eating his crunchies or his stinky goodness. However, it’s important to remember that this cat’s larger relatives in the wild leave cleanup to others after a meal of gazelle or impala, so this only adds to Nicky’s status as a Good Cat.

Hi, Kelly Cat – thanks for linking to our blog – we’re going to link to yours too! It’s nice to know another 4 cat household like ours! We too like to make the lady scratch her head wondering why we want up to see the top of the table, or the counter, or whatever else we can’t see from ground level. It adds to our air of mystery!
