3 Good Dots Saturday…
I feel good today… nice and warm outside, and when I get done here Pat and I are going to PetSmart for cat food, which likely means seeing lots of cute adoptable cats. Not that we’re looking to add any more, no way, nuh-uh… but I’ll be happy to pet any of them who want it… all the while murmuring, “Are you a good cat? You look like a good cat to me…”
– Looking ahead, this is shaping up to be a YouTube kind of post. The night Princess Diana died in 1997, I ignored the TV bulletins and looked for more information on the Web. Ten years later, when I heard about the Elizabeth Hasselbeck-Rosie O’Donnell debate on The View, I immediately thought (along with a lot of other people) of YouTube for the actual footage…
– I haven’t seen that kind of debate since Ségolène Royal and Nicolas Sarkozy went after each other. (The video at that link shows the most heated segment taking place, nearly 2 hours after they began. In particular, minutes 5 through 7 in this clip have the most venom. Here’s a translation and analysis. )
– By the way, President Sarkozy named Jean-Louis Borloo to his cabinet of ministers, and not unexpectedly, it was announced this past week that Béatrice Schonberg, who is married to Borloo, will not return to her job as the weekend anchor for France 2 news… Chapeau, Béa…
– Backing up a bit, that was the first time I’ve seen any of The View since I taped it the day Nellie McKay was on…
– And now, here’s a word from our alternate sponsor…
– Finally, a week ago, I posted about getting money in the mail in the form of rebates. To summarize, the site for NEC’s rebate still showed no sign of our submission after 8 weeks, so I phoned customer service and was advised to fax in copies of the documents. I did, and soon after, a check for $30 arrived from NEC. Well, this past week, another $30 rebate check arrived from NEC. The tracking ID for the initial submission and the one on the check that just came are different. Also, the name on this envelope and the latest check is misspelled Morre, which might help explain why the fulfillment company didn’t catch the duplicate check. Awfully generous of them, but no thanks, I just couldn’t cash it…
– OK now, I’m off to meet some new cats and some good people who are working to get them happy homes… so I’ll talk to you later…
