Nature Takes Its Course (cont’d.)

Posted in This, that and the other at 7:15

The robin’s nest in the front yard was probably the victim of a predator last week, but this week Pat told me she heard cheeping and peeping from the fir tree in the back yard… and she was right.

One parent waits in the nearby maple with more food to deliver to its nest…

…where two growing robin chicks are waiting to eat.

And life goes on…

Looks like three plump, healthy, chicks in that nest. Look to the right of the two chicks and you’ll see a denuded branch coming down from left to right. The third chick’s beak is angled with the branch, just to the left of it and his (her) eye is just to the right of that branch.

John replies: I see what you’re saying, but looking at pictures from other angles, I believe there were only two birds. However, I’ll take a good close look today for #3.

I have to tell you that I don’t have a good history with Robins. I see one, I want to eat one. The humans keep telling me off for this but I can’t help myself. FAZ

Oohhh….they look like fun to watch and maybe “play with”? We have a nest outside our window and its so tempting.
