What is a Good Cat? Kelly’s latest new bed

Posted in Cats, Kelly, What is a Good Cat? at 0:05

These two fleece blankets were supposed to be just for Diana. When her father Jack drops her off before work early in the morning, she is often still asleep, and the couch is where she gets the rest of her beauty sleep.

Then one day Kelly discovered the blankets after Diana went home, and the Big Guy claimed them as yet another new bed. He feels no need to sleep anywhere else, as long as he has such a soft, warm place to rest.

But we have just received another new soft, warm place for him to sleep… so now, will our Kelly Cat renounce his claim on Diana’s blankets in favor of something we got for him alone? And just what is that new soft, warm good thing I refer to?

Ah, you know what they always say: “Tune in tomorrow…”

Driven to Desperate Measures

Truth is stranger than fiction, and it usually doesn’t have as many happy endings either. That’s what makes the ending to this true story that much more enjoyable.

Freewheeling, but just so far…

OK, I’ll ride my bike to work, and I’ll ride it instead of driving to the store for small purchases… but I won’t do this.

(Was that a huge sigh of relief I just heard?)

Friday Cat Blogging: Miss Caitie, the Gotcha Day lady cat

Posted in Caitie, Cats, Friday Cat Blogging, Green and Growing at 0:05

Our calico girl has her eyes on the robin’s nest above her in the fir tree.

Sharing space with green and growing things,
including a volunteer sunflower on the left.

(We put out seed for the birds in the winter,
but they don’t eat it all, so in the spring…
well, you can guess the rest.)

Caitie’s Gotcha Day!

Posted in Caitie, Cats at 0:05

At the v*t’s office last Saturday morning, Dr. Donovan poured Caitie out of her carrier, looked at her and said, “Oh, she’s a beautiful cat!”

He says that every time.

But I’m inclined to agree with him. Her appearance was what caught my eye when I chose her at the Petco ten years ago today. Then I read the story taped to her cage, which told how she had been found digging in garbage cans for food, and I knew I wanted to adopt this beautiful survivor.

There is more about Caitie at the original 3 Good Cats home page, established in 1996, the place where it all began online for our Good Cats.

You can read a true little story about our Calico Diva tomorrow morning, just around the cybercorner at “What a Good Cat!”. (Caitie’s domain www.CalicoDiva.com also forwards to “What a Good Cat!”)

Continuing our Gotcha Day tribute, our green-eyed lady cat will also be the subject of tomorrow’s Traditional Friday Cat Blogging.

And finally, here’s a re-post of the video that captures Caitie’s personality very well, and proves that she is a Good Cat. Remember what they say: “Cats seem to go on the principle that it never does any harm to ask for what you want.” — Joseph Wood Krutch
