Keep It (Really) Simple…
I like Google. I use the Web search function like so many other people, and I have a GMail account on behalf of all the Good Cats. When I was trying to learn cartooning, Google Images was the first choice for finding examples and models. (On the off chance I couldn’t find a good go-by there, a trip to eBay usually turned up a clear photo.) Google News has helped me find news stories on folks as diverse as Nicolas Sarkozy, John Edwards, Jean van de Velde, Paula Deen, Gil Meche, and Carson Kressley.
So it’s a natural thing, when faced with lots of interesting blogs, to find a way to collect their RSS feeds in one place on the Web, and for me that’s (you guessed it) Google Reader. (Right, Bloglines does that too, and I tried it once, but as I said, I like Google.)
How to Get Started with Google Reader is a good 101-level way to get started accumulating feeds in one place, accessible from any computer, and at no charge.
