What is a Good Cat?

Posted in Nicky, What is a Good Cat? at 7:30

After we turned off the lights to go to sleep, the scratching began.  One of the cats was sharpening its claws on the carpeted steps, and Pat immediately picked the most likely of the usual suspects.

”Nicky,” she began in a low, slow voice, “what are you doing?”

Except this time, Nicky was actually lying at the foot of the bed, and he answered, “Meooww?”  It sounded to us so much like someone protesting his innocence, the real carpet-scratching culprit got away while Pat apologized to the unjustly accused little black cat.

Nicky, our Gatito Perfecto, has been wronged, and a special guest sympathizes with him.

why is it I always get blamed when something gets whapped to the floor?
oh, wait, it’s cause it’s me that does the whapping, never mind.

Poor Nicky, I hope you got extra treats!

Cute. Poor kitties do get blamed for everything. I’m the only one living here, and unfortunately I’m the only one who gets blamed.

Shheesh, I don’t have that luxury to have anyone else to blame, that is the luck of the only cat.
