As Predictable As A Sunrise…
An adage in police work is that the criminal always returns to the scene of the crime. That goes a long way toward explaining the groundhog in our back yard last night… sorry, whistle pig, we’ve got a fence around those tasty tomatoes now…

Ah, yes, groundhog. Woodchuck. Whistle Pig. One invaded our yard a couple years ago and ate all the broccoli (first and last time I tried to grow it). It had a burrow under the shed. What a nuisance! Animal control would only come out if it was injured or in immediate danger. Or we could pay over $100 to have it professionally removed. We left chicken wire along the side of the shed, loosely covering the hole, and that seems to have discouraged it. My fear was that I’d trap it IN the hole and have a dead woodchuck under my shed.
