Green and Growing: Light and shadow

Posted in Green and Growing at 17:23

It’s been a beautiful fall day. Breezy, perfect for hanging out the bedsheets, which I did after Pat washed them this morning.

Fall is Pat’s favorite time of the year, and I like fall days like these too, but they’re challenging for taking photos. The automatic exposure meter in the little Konica-Minolta camera doesn’t always see things the way I do. The bright sun will wash things out if I don’t allow for it, and sometimes there isn’t time to allow for it when trying to take a picture of a cat.

If I see an overexposed picture like the one below in the little preview screen, I either decide to try to fix it later in Photoshop Elements or…

… take another picture.

And here are a couple of shots of a morning glory that’s growing at the side of the house. Due to the bright sunlight, the flower in the top photo has some areas that show up as white instead of the violet-blue it really is. Just the same, I liked the different color combinations caused by the light and the shadow. The real color shows up better in the picture below it.
