Small Town Saturday
Time for a quick post: Pat is getting her stamina back, and although she still tires sooner than she used to, it’s only causing her a little inconvenience now in large stores like Home Depot. We were in the big orange store this afternoon to look for some strong glue, and after checking out I drove us to a little hot dog stand in a quiet small town a few miles away.
It’s the kind of thing we couldn’t have imagined doing just a few short weeks ago, right after her surgery. We could do a Thursday Thirteen or two or three just mentioning all the people who have helped Pat get to this point.
Neither of us would say we took things for granted even before her operation — if events in our lives hadn’t made sure of that, then September 11 would have — but we especially appreciated eating a hot dog and drinking chocolate milk on a bright, clear fall day.
