Thursday Thirteen #10: Things We Don’t Share

It’s hard to make an argument against sharing — from childhood, that’s a behavior we’re taught is good. Just the same, while Pat + I share many chores, under ordinary circumstances a few are designated as belonging only to one of us.

  1. Loading the dishwasher: Pat
  2. Vacuuming: John
  3. Doing laundry: Pat
  4. Washing cat boxes: John
  5. Feeding the Good Cats: Pat
  6. Shoveling snow: John
  7. Christmas decorating: Pat
  8. Setting up the VCR: John
  9. Polishing shoes: Pat
  10. Computer maintenance and tech support: John
  11. Gardening: Pat
  12. Baking: John
  13. Cooking meals: Pat

Oh my, this looks really yummy :) Too bad I am on a (constant) diet…

It’s the same in my household! For instance, I am responsible for cleaning the bathroom (which I find really therapeutic, actually!), while my husband is in charge of taking out the rubbish. I do the lion’s share of the cooking while he does the lion’s share of the washing up.

Sharing is the way to a harmonious family life, no?

Thanks for dropping by my T13. I love meeting new bloggers!! Your T13 header made me drool!
I am a cat lover too. I have a 10 year old named Boxer.

Sounds harmonious. But, when you’re finished vacuuming your house, you can teleport over and vacuum mine. Tuxie will help. :)

And, after you’re done vacuuming for David, you can come cook for us! Fortunately, the kids help out a lot around here, because otherwise, nothing would get done! Happy T-13!

Is that a photo of beignets? I’ve always wondered if those are easy to make at home. They look delicious! My husband and I also have designated chores, although we help each other out a lot, and our kids are learning to help too. It takes a lot to keep a household running!

Funny how these jobs just have a way of sorting them selves out. It is the same way in our home. For the most part.. it works. :-)

We do this too. There’s no guessing who is doing what because we always do the same things. It just makes it so much easier for us that way.

Looks like you share things quite well and all is under control!

Sounds like my place, too. Except I seem to do all of the yucky jobs. :( Oh well.

Yep, this sounds right. Sharing the workload is a must. It doesn’t always work in many households. I’m glad it does in yours. Have a great TT. :)

    Yep, we share too!
I fill up the litter box, and Mombean emptys it.
