Good Things: Togetherness

Everyday life with Good Cats, plus anything else that comes to mind.
“Cats are very smart and very trainable, but they’re not dogs. They don’t take orders. They will do things you want them to for praise and for fun — and if they want to do it.”
— Vickie Shields, one of the founders of International Cat Agility Tournaments.
Caitie is going on 12 years of age, but she watches what she eats and keeps active, so she has the energy of a younger cat. The other three cats take the steps on the far side of the deck, but our Calico Diva has the agility to climb up a different way. It saves her some time and some steps, and for this Good Cat, it’s not much more physically demanding.

Kelly and Nicky get along well, as long as there is plenty of distance between them. But when Pat’s preparing their Stinky Goodness, both man cats try to occupy the same space at the same time, and you can bet sparks will fly.
Just a quick, end-of-a-lazy-sunny-Saturday post. Last week, Pat’s car was in the shop again because a glitch in the electrical system returned. The first time it happened, a Kelly Buick-Ford-GMC-Jeep-Saturn (I think that’s all of them) employee drove her home, but this time, they paid for a rental car. The dealership phoned by the end of the afternoon and by the end of the day Pat had her car back, making this little Chevy a true Kelly Temp Car. Our curious Kelly (the original Temp Cat) and Caitie made sure to check out the visitor.

“You can’t write a song unless you have something to say.” — Willie Nelson
Sounds simple, doesn’t it? But it takes effort and time to get to where you know enough about something to have something to say about it.
The creative Karen Jo at Kitty Limericks makes that effort every day. After she reads and learns about her subject, she writes a thumbnail sketch and a deceptively quick little poem and posts them.
It was a pleasant surprise yesterday to find she’d written about Kelly, and today’s subject is Lizzie. Unless I miss my guess, I’m detecting a pattern here, so Pat and I are looking forward to what Karen Jo has to say over the next couple of days. Thanks, plus a tip of the Good Cats’ hats to her…
