Good Things: A Good Laugh

Posted in Good for a laugh, The Good things in life at 8:59

The boss is out of town this week, so I’m taking a day off from the job today. I’ve already put the time to good use, having had some Quality Time with Kelly as he joined me on the bed, followed by giving Caitie a good brushie in the bathroom. Now she’s on my lap, as I type around her.

A day off with pay is enough to put a smile on my face. Now I read that there’s a new book out that advocates more fun in the workplace. Good luck with that…

One thing that recently made me smile was a parody of the Major-General’s Song by Gilbert and Sullivan. Written by Kevin Wald of the University of Chicago, he envisioned it as being sung by Xena the Warrior Princess.

All of which reminds me of the classic animated version of Tom Lehrer’s “The Elements.”

Mum laughed, she loves Tom Lehrer, something about the song Poisoning Pigeons in the Park.

Mum needs to take a day off to spend with me, yep she does. I have to get on her calendar for this!
