Today’s Goodest Cat in the World!
Many of you will get the allusion to Keith Olbermann’s “Worst Person in the World.”
GOOD: The bronze goes to Kelly… he’s had some health problems this year, including symptoms of kidney disease, but after months of treatment, medicine, and care, we’re starting to see good signs. Kelly was spending most of his days lying on the floor, but lately we’ve been seeing him on the bed in the master bedroom instead of Lizzie, Nicky or Caitie. The King re-claims his property…
GOOD-ER: The silver, also to Kelly… his illness had made him lethargic, and we felt we could let him rest outside on the deck without watching him as closely as usual. All we did was block the deck steps with an old screen from a storm door. That worked fine for weeks, until Pat did a routine check on him one afternoon and found that he had slipped under the railing and hopped down to the ground. There he was, chewing on grass and generally minding his own business, looking at Pat as if to say, “What’s the big deal?”
GOOD-EST: And finally, the gold… yes, the gold also goes to the Big Guy. Right here’s the best sign that Kelly feels more like his old self — he has reclaimed the recliner in the family room from me. And, he’s starting once more to turn over on his back to ask for a tummy rub…

Mr. Kelly… still getting his proper rest, but also getting stronger every day, and today’s Goodest Cat… in the World!

Congratz Mr. Kelly, you are definitely a winner. We would like to add our own GOLD star award for squishing your ear as you roll! A self-squished ear is a happy ear.
Curiously,
