While the majority of the cats at Tabby’s Place are adults, the cat sanctuary has also given shelter and care to some kittens who needed help. Every day, the kittens are allowed to run and play in the lobby until the doors open to visitors. Here are several clips of Tabby’s Place kittens being normal kittens!

Every morning, weather permitting, Pat and I bow to our Good Cats’ wishes and take them outside. As long as I’m out there in the yard with them, I bring a camera, and during that half-hour in the yard, often snap off a couple of dozen photos of cats and other things. Some days, though, the lazy part of my mind persuades me not to take the camera outside. “Why bother? You have enough to do just watching Caitie, keeping her where she belongs. Anyway, what are you going to see? Nothing new, just more pictures of cats lying in the sun. As if you don’t have enough of those already.”
This time, I ignored the lazy part, and this is what I saw, sprouting next to the air conditioning unit…
… and here it is, from much closer. The blue morning glory is my favorite color, and although Pat is right when she warns that the plant’s vines can wrap themselves around everything at the side of the house, I refuse to call this pretty little volunteer a noxious weed.

Of course, we are thankful we were able to adopt Caitie. She is probably thankful for things like this little table, which is where Caitie goes when Nicky tries to pick a fight with her. It provides good protection without blocking her view, plus there’s room for a mousie or two. All in all, an elegant common-sense solution to a problem.

Pippin, Turtle, and Ava, the orange tabbies known for being Orange, Striped, and Proud have presented our Good Cats with this honor, and on their behalf we want to thank the orange tabbies for their consideration.
Here’s the text that goes with the award:
The aims of this award:
* As a dedication for those who love blogging activity and love to encourage friendships through blogging.
* To seek the reasons why we all love blogging!
* Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it
* Don’t forget to mention the person who gives you the award.
* Answer the award’s question by writing the reason why you love blogging.
* Tag and distribute the award to as many people as you like.
* Don’t forget to notify the award receivers and put their links in your post.
We love blogging because :
It’s like asking “why do you love the Internet?” I’d almost rather say I’m thankful for it. Years ago there was no easy way to connect and correspond with a lot of people who have similar interests. Now I’ve virtually met dozens of people I’d never have known otherwise. This is a very good thing because, as I’ve often said, cat people are good people!

Granddaughter Diana drew this and handed it to me, and I accepted it with gratitude. Diana won’t turn 5 until late next month, with plenty of hope and potential, and it’s been a joy to watch her grow up while Pat took care of her on weekdays. An amazing child, that’s what Diana is…

It’s a gray day and there are any number of reasons why I should feel blah, but one listen to this great little pop song wiped them all away… so I thought it might do the same thing for anyone else who might feel the same way today…
