Lizzie is so devoted to Pat, following her around nearly everywhere, that she is known as her "Puppy-Cat."  Another of Lizzie's behaviors is not as, um . . . refined.

   This same sweet kitty who who purrs like crazy when in Pat's lap or snuggled in bed with her can sometimes be found flat on her back in the middle of the floor with her paws in the air, as if she were posing for some girlie magazine.  The first time she saw that, Pat gave Lizzie another nickname:  "Hussy-Cat."

   Since then, we've learned that some cats show their tummies that way to help cool themselves.  Now that Mother Nature has turned off the spigot and summer is here in all its warm glory, it's time to review some other ways to help cats beat the heat.  This is also a good chance to include a link to a page with information intended to help prevent cats in heat.
