Drawn September 1996   - ODE TO A BLACK THUMB -
(If you don't know the tune, just ask your parents)

This spring, I had such high hopes for my garden,
And I worked it for all I was worth.
But when summer was done, in my garden,
This is all that came up from the earth.

One-two, one-two, tell the people what you grew!

It was an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny, yellow polka-dot zucchini,
For all that hard work I put in since May!
  An itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny, yellow polka-dot zucchini,
And in the compost it's going today. . .
